Suno AI stems are separate audio tracks for the vocals, drums, bass, and other parts of a song. You can download them through Suno’s built-in tools or split a saved song with a free separator.
Method 1: Download stems in Suno
Suno’s Get Stems feature requires a Pro or Premier subscription. Extracting stems uses credits.
- Find your song in Suno’s Library or Workspace.
- Open the song’s More Actions (…) menu and select Get Stems.
- For vocals and a backing track, choose Split from Mix and select vocals. Choose Auto Split to extract multiple parts.
- Select Extract. When the stems are ready, download the individual files you need.
If you’d prefer a free alternative, download the full song with SunoSaver, then use one of the tools below to separate it into stems.
Method 2: Use free stem separation tools
First download the full song with SunoSaver, then use a free tool to separate it into stems.
Step 1: Download the full song
Use a song you created or have permission to work with.
- Copy the song link. Open the version you want in Suno and copy its share link.
- Open SunoSaver. Paste the link into the song downloader and select Download a Song.
- Save the audio. Check the song title and creator in the result, then select Download MP3.
- Find the MP3. Open your browser’s Downloads list to locate the saved file.
SunoSaver saves the full song; stem separation happens in the tool you choose next.
Step 2: Choose a free stem separator
BandLab Splitter — browser and mobile
Upload your MP3 to BandLab Splitter and choose the free four-part split. You can then download separate tracks for vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments.
The free version supports files under 15 minutes. Separating guitar or piano individually requires a paid plan.
StemRoller — a simple desktop option
StemRoller is a free, open-source app for Windows and macOS. Import your downloaded audio to get vocals, drums, bass, and an “other” track, plus a combined instrumental track.
Ultimate Vocal Remover — more model choices
Ultimate Vocal Remover (UVR) is a free, open-source app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Choose a model that separates the parts you need, then load your MP3 and select an output folder.
Use your stems in a remix or backing track
- Vocals: Use the vocal track in a remix.
- Instrumental: Practice singing or record a cover over the backing track.
- Drums and bass: Adjust the rhythm section in an audio editor.
Listen to the stems before using them in a project. Check for leftover vocals or instruments, missing parts, and changes in sound quality.
